Russell Weller grew up in Pomeroy, Iowa and from 2007-2009, he was the lead singer, drummer, and harp player in a rock and blues cover band called Jokers Wild. Russell is a Junior at Buena Vista University where he is double majoring in Business Management and Music Production. In the fall of 2008, Russell met BVU student Jake Koivisto. The two of them quickly realized their passion for the same style of music, and with Russell on drums, they started recording music together. In January of 2009, they decided to take their music to another level by creating the Jacob Lee Band.  Russell serves under the University’s Chaplain as the Spiritual Life’s Music Team Leader, and volunteers on the Music Team for the Manson Mennonite Church.
